Cala Health’s Cala Trio is a personalized therapy for essential tremor.
Redwood City, California–based Cala Health designed the noninvasive targeted therapy system specifically to help reduce hand tremor. It measures specific tremor and sends a gentle stimulation to the medial and radial nerves that travels to the brain. The stimulation interrupts the tremor in the ventral intermediate nucleus of the thalamus.
Cala Trio is available through a prescription.
The device won FDA breakthrough device designation in October 2020 and was a nominee for Prix Galien’s best medical technology award in 2021.
