Medical device innovation: The Jada System

Organon

jada systemOrganon designed the Jada system to control and treat abnormal postpartum uterine bleeding or hemorrhage when conservative management is warranted.

Organon designed the system to apply a low-level vacuum to encourage normal contraction of the uterus to help provide control and treatment of abnormal uterine bleeding or hemorrhage following childbirth, according to the company. FDA  cleared the system in August 2020.

The Jada system is made of soft silicone and has an intrauterine loop that has interior vacuum pores inside a protective shield to evacuate blood. An expandable cervical seal is filled with sterile fluid to create a seal that holds a vacuum within the uterus and a connector at the end of the device’s tube is attached to a regulated vacuum source.
