Founded by CEO Dr. Amber Robins, Sanxtuary MD has developed menstrual and postpartum underwear made of bamboo fabric that can absorb up to six times as much liquid as a tampon. The slip-resistant, leakproof panties can be worn with or without a pad.
The startup also offers educational products such as the My First Period Kit to help women learn about their bodies and their cycles.
Robins is a family medicine doctor who wanted to help young girls and women maintain their confidence by empowering them to better understand “what happens to our lady parts as we age and grow,” the company says on its website. “If only women of every age could learn about their bodies, it would make a whole lot of difference.”
