The medical device manufacturer commits to reducing its environmental impact

Tegra Medical, a leading contract manufacturer of medical devices and a member of SFS, which is headquartered in Heerbrugg Switzerland, today announced it has achieved ISO 14001 certification in all four of its locations in the Americas.

ISO 14001 certification, the world’s most widely recognized standard for Environmental Management Systems, is granted to companies that identify and manage aspects of their business to reduce their environmental impact. Certification is established with a baseline, which is determined after an extensive audit of a company’s procedures.

Tegra Medical expands manufacturing operations in Costa Rica

Tegra Medical has purchased a building to expand its manufacturing operations in Costa Rica, the medical device contract manufacturer said today.

Franklin, Massachusetts-based Tegra said the 85,000-ft² building is near its two buildings in the CF Free Zone in La Aurora de Heredia. Tegra will consolidate its metals manufacturing footprint with the new facility, allowing it to expand its nearby clean room molding and assembly operations.

Tegra will have a total of 135,000 ft² of manufacturing space in Costa Rica when the project is complete, Tegra Costa Rica GM Sean Mikus said.

Tegra Medical announces new director of sales and marketing in Europe

Tegra Medical announced that it appointed Darren Vine as its director of sales and marketing in Europe.

Franklin, Mass.-based Tegra said in a news release that Vine will report to CEO and head of SFS division medical Walter Kobler, with responsibilities including the building of the company’s presence through expansion into new markets around the globe.

Vine recently held two roles in medical device contract manufacturing, having served as business development and marketing director at XL Precision Technologies, as well as director of sales and business development EU/Asia at Accellent. Other previous roles were held at SpeedFam-IPEC and Sandvik Steel UK.

“Darren brings a wealth of experience to our management team,” Kobler said in the release. “We’re looking forward to tapping his track record of building relationships in the medtech industry as we work together to support Tegra Medical’s global growth initiatives.”
