DeviceTalks and the WTWH Media Life Sciences team — which includes editorial staff from DeviceTalks, Medical Design & Outsourcing and MassDevice — are finalists in the Software & Information Industry Association’s (SIIA) 70th Annual Jesse H. Neal Awards competition.

SIIA calls the Neal Awards “the most prestigious editorial honors in the field of business-to-business journalism.”

DeviceTalks is a finalist in the category of best range of work by a media brand for our DeviceTalks podcasts, live events in Boston and California, and print and online coverage through MassDevice and Medical Design & Outsourcing.

DeviceTalks Boston 2023: Registration is now open for our life event on May 1-2

The WTWH Media editorial staffers named as finalists are Device Talks Editorial Director Tom Salemi, DeviceTalks Managing Editor Kayleen Brown, Life Sciences Editor-in-Chief Chris Newmarker, Life Sciences Managing Editor Jim Hammerand, Life Sciences Senior Editor Danielle Kirsh and Life Sciences Associate Editor Sean Whooley.

Neal Awards judges considered four examples of DeviceTalks editorial content published across our Life Sciences publications:

— The Nov. 10, 2023 DeviceTalks Weekly podcast featuring an interview with Rocco De Bernardis, global president of Johnson & Johnson MedTech’s Ottava surgical robotics platform

— Coverage of DeviceTalks Boston 2023 in the July 2023 issue of Medical Design & Outsourcing:

— Coverage of DeviceTalks West 2023 and the Intuitive Talks web series in the November 2023 Medical Design & Outsourcing Medical Device Handbook:

— And MassDevice coverage of BD CEO Tom Polen’s keynote at DeviceTalks Boston 2023.

SIIA will announce the Jesse H. Neal Awards winners in New York City on April 26.

Earlier this week, Medical Design & Outsourcing was honored with journalism awards in the annual American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE) Awards of Excellence competition. Medical Design & Outsourcing won four national and Overall Excellence honors from ASBPE in 2023.
