Zeus hires new CEO from Becton Dickinson

Zeus has hired Padraic “Paddy” O’Brien as CEO from Becton, Dickinson and Co. effective April 1, the medical tubing supplier said today.

O’Brien is worldwide president of BD Peripheral Intervention, where he “developed an extensive and consistent track record of delivering durable, sustainable growth while creating a winning culture,” Zeus said in a news release.

O’Brien held management positions at Bard from 2001, rising to the position of global marketing VP by the time of the company’s December 2017 acquisition by BD.

He’ll replace Steve Peterson, who joined Zeus as SVP of global sales and marketing in 2017 and was promoted to president in 2018 and CEO in 2020.

BD hires Carrier operations SVP to be chief integrated supply chain officer

Becton, Dickinson and Co. (NYSE: BDX) has hired Rishi Grover as EVP and chief integrated supply chain officer.

Grover joined the executive leadership team at Franklin Lakes, New Jersey-based BD on July 7. He will have global responsibility for leadership of the company’s supply chain, operations, procurement, sustainability, and environmental, health and safety (EHS) teams.

He replaces Alexandre Conroy, who will retire after a 31-year career with BD at the end of this year.

BD to purchase pharmacy automation firm Parata Systems

BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) (NYSE:BDX) has partnered with the private equity firm Frazier Healthcare Partners to acquire Parata Systems, a provider of pharmacy automation solutions. The purchase price of the acquisition is $1.525 billion.

Founded in 2006, Parata Systems offers a range of products and services, including medication adherence packaging technology and perpetual inventory management.

The Durham, North Carolina–based company has positioned its automation technology and software as a means to enable pharmacists to focus more on clinical work and patient interactions.
