Masimo (Nasdaq:MASI) today announced the global expansion of its HEOS platform for always-on connection through its secure cloud.

The Masimo Health secure cloud covers 4 million devices, offering customers an enhanced health-tracking experience. This software upgrade enables Masimo’s devices and cloud solution to seamlessly integrate with HEOS-enabled devices. Those include sound bars, wireless speakers, amplifiers and receivers from Denon, Marantz and Definitive Technology.

Irvine, California-based Masimo plans to bring this expansion worldwide, including to the U.S. Canada, the UK, Japan and Australia, initially. It expects to take the software upgrade live in more countries later this year.

“We are excited to expand the footprint and capabilities of our HEOS platform with our wearables and provide our customers with health tracking truly integrated with their favorite audio solutions,” said Joe Kiani, Founder and CEO of Masimo. “Now, four million devices around the world can help improve the lives of our customers by combining the joy of high-quality audio with the convenience of continuous and accurate health and wellness tracking from the comfort of their own homes.”

About the Masimo HEOS ecosystem

Masimo combines its HEOS platform with its latest wearable health and wellness devices. That includes the W1 health-tracking watch, plus eventually the Stork baby monitor and Radius Tº continuous thermometer. The company said other select medical devices and more can also help users track health and wellness and share data.

According to Masimo, the latest ecosystem innovation wirelessly relays health data to the HEOS-enabled home device and Masimo’s secure cloud. This enables storage, analysis, reporting and transfer with a new way to connect and interact with health technologies.

Masimo announced at the end of last year that it planned to bring its health-tracking capabilities to home entertainment technology. A large part of that comes through its $1.025 billion acquisition of Sound United this year. Sound United accounts for sound and home theater system brands including Bowers & Wilkins, Denon, Polk Audio and Marantz.

The company said HEOS-enabled devices can record key health data during all at-home activities. That includes pulse rate, oxygen saturation, respiration rate, hydration index and more. Customers can access the new functionality through a cloud software update to their existing devices.

“The HEOS platform embodies the true essence of luxury in the modern era, where health and wellness take center stage. These new capabilities redefine what it means to live a life centered around wellness, and empower individuals to embrace self-care as an essential part of that life, transforming their lives with innovative technology and personalized insights,” Kiani said. “We believe the health hub feature will not only differentiate Masimo audio products in the eyes of consumers worldwide, but also bring forth the next level of health and wellness by allowing connected care as consumers move around tetherless and even smartphone-less.”
