Imperative Care announced today that it appointed Chuck Alpuche as its new COO along with a slew of leadership changes.

The stroke care company named Peter Griffin as SVP of operations, Scott Elliott as chief legal officer and Daniel Davis as chief strategy officer, too.

Fred Khosravi, Imperative Care CEO and chair, said the moves come amid an “inflection point of operational scale and excellence.” In August, Imperative Care implemented a new organizational structure designed to accelerate growth.

The company now stands as the parent company of four businesses. These businesses all share a common goal of bringing care to those affected by stroke and other ischemic diseases.

“Chuck and Peter together have made an indelible impact in elevating the treatment of diabetes, and they will turn their attention to doing the same for stroke and thrombectomy care,” Khosravi said. “Scott brings a wealth of legal and strategic expertise that he has amassed through his very distinguished career advising hypergrowth innovative companies. Daniel will continue his important contributions to the future of patient care with his resolute dedication to meaningful innovation.”

More about the new Imperative Care appointments

Alpuche has more than 40 years of senior operational expertise. He most recently served as EVP and COO of Insulet before announcing plans to retire in December 2022.

Before Insulet, Alpuche spent 30 years at PepsiCo in leadership roles overseeing domestic and international plant operations.

Griffin brings more than 35 years of manufacturing, strategic supplier management and product development experience. Most recently, he had the position of VP and chief procurement officer at Insulet. He also served as global leader of contract manufacturing at Harman International.

Elliott joins with three decades of experience, too, advising high-growth companies that include ones in the medical device sector. Most recently, he was a corporate partner at O’Melveny and Myers in the M&A group there. He co-headed the firm’s life sciences practice.

Davis takes on the newly created CSO role to oversee the growth and strategic initiatives of Imperative Care’s businesses. This is an internal promotion, as the company says he’s played a key role in the company’s success already.

“We foresee that the knowledge and expertise of these leaders – both within and outside of the medical device industry – will allow Imperative Care to take the next step forward in our mission to innovate and improve the entire continuum of patient care,” added Khosravi.
