ChoiceSpine announced today that it received FDA clearance for its Blackhawk Ti cervical spacer system.

Knoxville, Tenn.-based ChoiceSpine designed its Blackhawk Ti cervical spacer system with the BioBond 3D-printed titanium porous matrix and a large open graft window for bone graft containment and maximum visualization, according to a news release.

Additionally, the platform consists of 6° lordotic and convex configurations, simultaneous, single-step anchor deployment, external locking indication for easy confirmation of a cam-locking mechanism and preassembled, integrated anchor technology.

In the news release, the lead design surgeon for the Blackhawk Ti system, Anders Cohen, said it builds upon the company’s Blackhawk PEEK device with integrated anchor technology, with its design simplicity and instrumentation setting it apart from others by reducing the number of steps in the procedure, thus minimizing surgery time.
