Less than two months after announcing her departure from Johnson & Johnson MedTech, Ashley McEvoy has taken on a role on the board of Procter & Gamble.

In October, the former EVP and worldwide chair at J&J MedTech announced her intention to leave the world’s second-largest medical device manufacturer. Tim Schmid took over the position from McEvoy, who spent 27 years at J&J. The reason behind her departure was “to pursue new opportunities,” she said.

While the seasoned medtech executive has yet to share any planned C-level moves, she has a new position on the board at a major consumer goods company in Procter & Gamble. Her appointment to the company’s board of directors went into effect on Dec. 12.

Over the course of her time at J&J, McEvoy most recently led the MedTech unit and spearheaded efforts to develop integrated, digitized solutions. She brought the business into the telehealth, robotics and digital surgery spaces. Under her leadership, J&J MedTech deployed more than $20 billion in M&A activity as well.

McEvoy also served as J&J’s group chair for consumer medical devices, as well as group chair for vision care. She was worldwide president of Ethicon products, president of McNeil consumer healthcare and held a number of other management, marketing and brand management roles.

“Ashley’s transformative leadership, track record of innovation and breadth of experience in serving consumers and growing markets will be an asset to P&G. Her expertise will further strengthen the capability of our board as we improve the lives of consumers around the world,” said Jon Moeller, P&G’s chair of the board, president and CEO.
