VitalPath Modern Catheter TechnologiesVitalPath announced today that it acquired catheter delivery system developer Modern Catheter Technologies.

The Roseville, Minnesota-based company said in a news release that the acquisition builds upon its acquisition of VitalDyne in March 2021.

Maplewood, Minnesota-based ModernCath’s microcatheter expertise brings added strength to VitalPath’s services in the neurovascular, coronary and peripheral market segments, the company said.

“ModernCath is a strategic addition to expand and scale the VitalPath platform,” VitalPath CEO Randall Sword said in the release. “ModernCath’s strength in the neurovascular and electrophysiology markets complements VitalPath’s expertise in the structural heart and peripheral markets. And their exceptional extrusion capabilities will be a  valuable addition to our strength in laser processing technologies and finished device manufacturing.”

VitalPath said the acquisition will expand its ability to scale, increasing its total footprint to more than 80,000 square feet of manufacturing space, with 35,000 square feet made up of ISO 7 and 8 cleanroom space. VitalPath customers will now have access to additional expertise in markets including electrophysiology and neurovascular, the company added.
