Tessy Plastics today said it has a deal to buy a three-building campus totaling about 1.5 million square feet in Webster, New York.

The three buildings — 200, 210 and 214 at 800 Phillips Road, formerly owned by Xerox — are about an hour’s drive from Skaneateles, New York-based Tessy’s other facilities in Upstate New York.

The largest of the three buildings measures more than 750,000 square feet.

The purchase is expected to close by the end of 2021, and the three buildings will be subdivided by that time. Two of the three buildings are vacant, with the third to be unoccupied by 2022.

Tessy plans to lease some of the space to third-party tenants and use the rest as warehouse space. All three buildings are likely to eventually become production plants.

“Knowing that we have the extra space to expand in the future is a strategic initiative that has always been important to Tessy,” President Roland Beck said in a news release. “We’ve had great success in the past with having additional space. Having the extra square footage allows us to onboard programs quickly and continually adapt to our customers’ ever-changing needs.”

Last year, Tessy transformed a 400,000-square-foot warehouse into a state-of-the-art medical manufacturing facility in 15 weeks to support a customer, Beck said.

Tessy said it now has close to 3 million square feet of space in Central New York.

Founded in 1973, Tessy specializes in injection molding and custom automated assembly solutions. The company has facilities in New York, Pennsylvania and China, and customers in the medical, pharmaceutical, diagnostics and consumer healthcare markets.
