Zeus hires first chief technology officer

Zeus today announced it hired Suresh Sainath as chief technology officer, effective immediately.

The chief technology officer position is newly created. Sainath will lead the Orangeburg, S.C.-based polymer extrusion and catheter manufacturing company’s efforts to accelerate innovation and leverage the advanced capabilities of its component and contract manufacturing platforms.

Zeus launches multi-lumen tubing for steerable catheters

Zeus Industrial Products today announced that it has launched its PTFE Sub-Lite-Wall multi-lumen tubing to its product portfolio.

Orangeburg, S.C.-based Zeus designed the multi-lumen tubing for steerable catheters. It has ultra-thin walls, certified USP Class VI biocompatibility, high structural integrity, improved planarity, high lubricity and excellent dielectric strength, according to the company.

Zeus Industrial Products integrates CathX Medical

Zeus Industrial Products has agreed to integrate catheter-based contract manufacturer CathX Medical into its organization.

The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed in yesterday’s announcement.

San Jose, Calif.–based CathX provides catheter design engineering services, rapid prototyping, manufacturing, and full or sub-assemblies. CathX’s leadership will continue to manage the San Jose facility, services, and team members under the global leadership of Zeus CEO Steve Peterson.

Zeus Industrial Products founder passes away

Frank Paul Tourville Sr. — who founded Zeus 54 years ago and built it into a major provider of advanced medical tubing products — recently passed away at age 87.

The Orangeburg, S.C.–based company in its announcement of Tourville’s March 16 death described him as a well-known and highly regarded visionary in the polymer extrusion industry.
