Rainin expands in Vacaville’s growing biomanufacturing hub

Laboratory instrument manufacturer Rainin has purchased a new 93,240-square-foot facility in Vacaville, California to expand its manufacturing operations.

Oakland-based Ranin plans to open the facility this summer with 60 employees and grow that figure to 100 over time. The building at 4790 Midway Road near Interstate 505 was developed by LDK Ventures as the second phase of its NorthBay Logistics Center in Vacaville’s Interchange Business Park.

Rainin paid $20.25 million for the 9-acre property, according to the San Francisco Business Times. The building has 30-foot-tall ceilings, 17 dock-high doors and four knock-outs listed in marketing materials.

Vacaville is trying to attract biomanufacturing and medical device businesses to complement nearby facilities operated by Genentech, Janssen, Polaris Pharmaceuticals and RxD Nova Pharmaceuticals.
