This new tubing retention solution for leak-free fluid transfer features a patent-pending lead-in ramp, creating a complete 360° compression. With an operating pressure of 80 psi (120 psi burst), these components are cleanroom-molded from polyketone (PK) and suitable for several sterilization methods including gamma radiation, X-ray and autoclaving. These tubing retainers work seamlessly with silicone, TPE and PVC tubing, making them a versatile choice for high-pressure bioprocess applications. Qosina announced that it introduced Colder Product Company’s (CPC) new AseptiQuik W Series connectors to its product line.

Ronkonkoma, New York-based Qosina added AseptiQuik W to its extensive line of aseptic, genderless connectors.

AseptiQuik W Series connectors feature a 1 ½” flow path and enable quick and easy sterile connections. Uses include in large-volume, high-flow production and process intensification environments. The system’s large diameter connection enables higher flow rates. This reduces the risk of flow restrictions or pressure drops that may negatively impact process performance.

Qosina, a global supplier of OEM single-use components to the medical and bioprocess industries, has completed the construction of its new state-of-the-art cleanroom. This 1700-square-foot, ISO Class 8 cleanroom supports the expansion of Qosina’s pick and pack process, allows the company to increase capacity, and reduce lead times for customers.

Pochter has more than 20 years of expertise in product strategy, business development, sales, marketing and supply chain management. Most recently, he was VP of the Alternative Lens Group at EssilorLuxottica.

Qosina expands pinch clamp offerings

Qosina (Ronkonkoma, New York) announced today that it has a new selection of pinch clamps made from polybutylene terephthalate.

PBT is an alternative to the nylon used in many types of single-use medical device components, according to Qosina.

The 0.75 in. (19 mm) pinch clamps are now available in white (No. 25659), red (No. 25154), yellow (No. 25152), blue (No. 25156) and black (No. 25153) for use in color-coded sets.

The clamps have easy, one-handed closure — no tools needed, according to Qosina. The materials in the clamps meet USP Class VI and ISO 10993 criteria. They’re tamper-evident and zip-tie compatible — and gamma and autoclave compatible. They audibly click when securely connected, and they’re color-coded to distinguish between different fluid lines.

Qosina announces new luer lock connectors amid nylon shortage

Qosina (Ronkonkoma, New York) announced today that it is adding to its luer lock connector product line to address a global Zytel nylon shortage.

The new selection of luer lock connectors is made of high-performance Vydyne that the company has in stock. As a result, the connectors are ready for immediate shipment. In addition, the connectors are REACH and RoHS compliant and come with regulatory documentation, CAD drawings and validation test data.

“We proactively assess the supply chain for our products for any potential issues and take steps to mitigate the risks of interruption,” Qosina CEO Scott Herskovitz said in a news release. “In the case of a resin supply issue, Qosina evaluates and sources compatible alternatives, ensuring our ongoing commitment to business continuity.”

Qosina President and CEO Scott Herskovitz is now also the chairperson of the board of directors, the company said today.

Herskovitz replaces his father, Qosina founder Stuart Herskovitz, who will retain his seat on the board and serve as chairperson emeritus. He “continues to be fully involved in business development for the company,” Qosina said in a news release.

The younger Herskovitz took over for his father as president and CEO in 2018.

Qosina’s founder and chair to be honored for work with developmentally disabled

The AHRC Foundation in Nassau County, N.Y. is honoring Qosina founder and chair Stuart Herskovitz.

Herskovitz will be the AHRC Foundation’s Leadership Award Recipient at its 71st Annual Rose Ball Gala on Oct. 21, 2021 at The Mansion at Oyster Bay.

The foundation seeks to benefit people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.

Herskovitz has advocated for the employment of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. He’s promoted a neurodiverse workforce within his own company. On a personal level, he’s also shown devotion to his brother, Michael, according to the company.

Qosina inks distribution agreement with Nordson Medical

Qosina announced today that it has entered into a distribution agreement with Nordson Medical, a maker and supplier of components to the bioprocess and medical device industries.

The deal will enable Nordson Medical customers who wish to purchase lower quantities of medtech and bioprocess components to place the orders directly with Qosina at www.qosina.com.
