Paxxus this week announced that it has launched its AccuPierce aluminum foil for diagnostic applications.
AccuPierce is a percale aluminum foil that can be used as the lidding component within a diagnostic device.
The foil lidding is a composite material that has a highly-controlled aluminum foil that is paired with Paxxus’s chemically resistant, high-barrier Exponent sealant, according to the Addison, Ill.-based company. The Exponent allows for a clean, quick puncture in sensitive testing environments and can contain aggressive chemicals used as reagents.
Paxxus designed AccuPierce to be suitable for use with compounds, including dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) reagents, organic solvents, ethanol and isopropanol. It is heat sealable to olypropylene, polyethylene and COC.
AccuPierce is compatible with multiple sterilization processes and can be used for DNase, RNase and human DNA applications.
