Resonetics said yesterday it acquired FISO Technologies, which develops and builds fiber optic sensors and signal conditioners.
Founded in 1994 and based in Quebec City, Quebec, FISO was previously owned by Nova Ventures’ Nova Metrix. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
FISO’s fiber optic development and advanced manufacturing supports high-volume production of complex fiber optic products for the medical device and energy markets, Resonetics said in a news release.
“We are excited to add FISO’s innovative fiber optic capabilities to provide our customers with improved access to another novel technology that’s already proven useful in several clinical applications,” Resonetics President and CEO Tom Burns said in the news release. “FISO serves market leaders in interventional cardiology, critical care and women’s health and we believe the technology has broad application in other clinical areas.”
