Fuse Medical appoints new CFO

Fuse Medical announced today that it appointed Lawrence “Larry” S. Yellin as its new chief financial officer and member of its executive board.

Yellin will be responsible for the Richardson, Texas-based orthopedic device company’s financial functions, including accounting, audit, treasury, corporate finance, SEC reporting and investor relations.

A veteran of more than 25 years in financial management, business leadership and corporate strategy, Yellin served as CFO for NVIP, a holistic health and wellness supplier and manufacturer. Before NVIP, he was CFO for Logic E Cigarettes, VP Controller for Handy & Harman and CFO for Fujifilm’s consumer imaging group.

Fuse Medical inks U.S. distro deal with BRM Extremities for Silktoe arthroplasty implant

Fuse Medical announced today that it entered into a distribution partnership with BRM Extremities for the U.S. distribution of Silktoe.

Richardson, Texas-based Fuse inked the deal for the exclusive U.S. distribution of the Silktoe metatarsophalangeal joint arthroplasty implant, adding to the company’s portfolio of lower extremity products.

BRM designed Silktoe as a solution for patients with severe arthritis in the metatarsophalangeal joint who are seeking another option outside of fusion. Its design was derived from the historical silastic toe arthroplasty devices and evolved to offer a more anatomical fit and replication of natural anatomical motion, according to a news release.

The system includes an elastomeric silicone spacer placed within each of the two bones comprising the metatarsophalangeal joint during toe arthroplasty, secured in place by titanium grommets. BRM offers Silktoe in five different sizes specific to the left or right foot. Read more

Fuse Medical wins FDA 510(k) clearance for Sterizo knee system

Fuse Medical announced today that it received FDA 510(k) clearance for its tibial revision knee system and stabilized tibial insert.

Richardson, Texas-based Fuse Medical’s tibial revision knee system and the PS Plus posterior stabilized tibial insert represent the latest additions to the company’s Sterizo total knee system.

According to a news release, the Sterizo tibial revision knee system offers surgeons a stemmed option in a primary total knee arthroplasty for patients with higher body mass index (BMI) or requiring additional stability, along with tibial augments to address anatomical defects.

The platform constitutes the basis of the Sterizo total revision knee system, which Fuse currently has under development with an eye on an initial launch in late 2022.
