Enable Injections to expand manufacturing facility to support drug delivery device production

In addition to the expansion in Springdale, Ohio, the company plans to enhance its corporate headquarters in Evendale, Ohio. Both facilities, nearby one another, sit just outside of Cincinnati.

Enable Injections plans for its new 90,000-square-foot manufacturing center to support ongoing in-house manufacturing and supply of its enFuse medicine delivery technology. The company develops the enFuse platform, which allows hands-free, hidden needle drug delivery of up to 25 mL. Its simple design enables flexibility for at-home self-administration or in-clinic use.

Enable Injections adds finance veteran to its board

New Enable Injections board member Vickie Capps. [Image from NuVasive]Enable Injections announced today that it appointed Vickie Capps to its board of directors as the head of the audit committee.

Capps joins the wearable drug delivery system maker with plenty of experience in finance and executive leadership. She also brings extensive board experience, including currently serving on the board of orthopedic company NuVasive.

Other boards Capps serves on include Amedisys and Janux Therapeutics. She serves as a member of the senior advisory board at Consonance Capital Partners, a healthcare-focused private equity firm. Her record includes serving as CFO of DJO Global from 2002 to 2013 as well.

Capps joins the board of Enable Injections at a good time. The company just picked up FDA approval for its enFuse injector for the delivery of Empaveli.

Empaveli, commercialized by Apellis Pharmaceuticals, treats adults with paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH). The injector — in this case, called the Empaveli Injector — offers self-administration of the pharmaceutical. The compact, wearable device streamlines the self-administration experience with minimal disruption to daily lives.

Enable Injections completes $25M credit facility

Enable Injections announced today that it completed a credit facility worth $25 million from Oxford Finance LLC.

Cincinnati-based Enable Injections said in a news release that the funds are earmarked for supporting the scaling of high-volume manufacturing and the achievement of major inflection points as it moves toward commercialization.
