Steeper Group announced today that it completed the acquisition of College Park Industries’ Espire Elbow prostheses range.

Leeds, England-based Steeper Group completed the transaction after a COVID-19-forced delay. After the FTC approved Össur’s acquisition of College Park Industries, the three parties agreed to the delay, but are now able to complete the transaction.

Espire Elbow is a range of five models designed to reflect the anatomical shape of the elbow, offering intuitive control of the prosthetic elbow joint and giving users an opportunity to complete everyday activities like lifting and carrying.

Steeper Group intends to continue growth in the United Kingdom and U.S. to provide more manufacturing and technical support for the Espire range. The companies are now entering into a six-month transition period in which College Park Industries experts will share knowledge and skills with their Steeper Group counterparts, according to a news release.

“We are thrilled to be able to add the Espire Elbow range to our upper limb product portfolio,” Steeper Group CEO Paul Steeper said in the release. “This deal has been in discussion for almost a year and the COVID-19 pandemic has proved a huge hurdle, however the time is right to seize the opportunity to grow our business.”
