Solesis and Polyzen logosSolesis announced this week that it has acquired Polyzen, a developer and manufacturer of polymer-based film and coating technologies for the medical device and biopharmaceutical industries.

The companies did not disclose financial terms in their Nov. 2 news release. Officials at Telford, Pennsylvania–based Solesis said the acquisition will expand the company’s design and manufacturing capabilities in advanced biomaterials, broadening the service offering delivered to customers.

“We are thrilled about what this new partnership will mean for our customers going forward,” Solesis CEO Karen West said in the news release. “Polyzen enhances Solesis’ breadth of polymer-based technologies, know-how, and capabilities, all of which will enable us to continue to provide innovative solutions to our customers.”

Polyzen co-CEOs Nikin Shah and Rubin Shah said they were excited to combine Polyzen’s decades of polymer science experience in film and coating technologies with Solesis’ advanced biomaterials know-how. They said they look forward to innovating and developing polymer technology solutions to support our global medical device and bioprocessing customers.

Based in Apex, North Carolina, Polyzen will operate as a subsidiary of its new owner.
