Philips MR5300 SystemRoyal Philips (NYSE:PHG) announced today that it launched a new magnetic resonance (MR) imaging portfolio powered by artificial intelligence (AI).

Amsterdam-based Philips launched the new AI-enabled innovations for speeding up MR exams, streamlining workflows, optimizing diagnostic quality and helping to ensure the efficiency and sustainability of radiology operations at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting in Chicago.

The company launched the Philips SmartSpeed, which, according to a news release, it designed to speed up image acquisition and enhance image quality and diagnostic confidence.

Philips also introduced its new MR Workspace with AI assistance, which simplifies the path from image acquisition to diagnosis, allowing even less experienced technologists to drive productivity and predictability with a dashboard that fully automates the planning and execution of routine scans.

Finally, the company debuted the MR5300 system and the MR7700 system. MR5300 has received FDA 510(k) clearance to simplify and automate complex clinical and operational tasks for outpatient clinical use, giving MR departments a way to increase access to affordable, quality care.

MR7700 is integrated with multinuclear clinical capabilities to offer new imaging pathways, plus the accuracy, power and endurance of its XP gradients that help in neuroscience.

“At this year’s RSNA, we are focused on introducing scalable high-performance MR systems to the imaging enterprise, with intelligent software built in to automate tasks to help relieve the burden on radiology staff and departments,” Philips GM of MR Arjen Radder said in the release. “With AI-driven smart connected systems, optimized workflows, and integrated clinical solutions, our goal is to deliver high-quality diagnostic images while also improving radiology department productivity by relieving radiologists of burdensome routine tasks so they have more time to take care of their patients.”
