MTD-Micro-Molding-logoMTD Micro Molding announced that it is celebrating its 50th anniversary.

The company, founded as a small tool and die shop in Richard J. Tully’s Charlton, Massachusetts, home’s basement, now functions in plastics manufacturing to help medical OEMs in a 16,500-square-foot facility in Charlton.

Charlton, Massachusetts-based MTD Micro Molding, was later run by Richard Tully’s son, Denis Tully, who took over in 2008 when the former retired, offers both micro tooling and micro-molding in-house, enabling customers to get their micro components to market faster. The company’s focus was narrowed even more under Dennis Tully, now centering around medical micro molding.

The company’s growth over the years under Dennis Tully — who passed away unexpectedly in 2019 — led to a building expansion in 2021, resulting in an increase in medical manufacturing capacity and new services, including custom assembly and packaging solutions.

“MTD remains committed to the strategy and values set by Richard and Dennis Tully for the past 50 years,” CEO Gary Hulecki said in a news release. “As the demand for even smaller devices with tighter tolerances continues to grow, our team will stay ahead of emerging trends to respond quickly, precisely, and efficiently to our customers’ needs and challenges.”
