Mindray announced that it launched the mWear system for wireless, wearable patient monitoring of a range of vital signs.

Shenzhen, China-based Mindray designed mWear to enable an efficient workflow for monitoring patient conditions and delivering patient-centric care.

Mindray’s mWear system addresses shortages of beds and staff in today’s hospitals, according to a news release. It combines wireless interconnection with accurate multi-parameter monitoring, streamlined workflows and seamless integration. The company said it helps improve clinical outcomes throughout the patient journey.

The mWear system offers measurements of vital signs. Those include ECG, oxygen saturation, noninvasive blood pressure, respiration rate, pulse rate, and temperature. The system features anti-interference capabilities, allowing patients to move without restrictions. It also minimizes false alarms for clinicians to identify true abnormalities.

Mindray said its system enables customizable measurement settings and monitoring modes to fit different clinical demands. This enables a smoother workflow and higher efficiency, according to the company. Vital sign changes, auto-triggered emergency mode and alarm escalations help clinicians identify early signs of deterioration and intervene.

Monitoring in the home as well as the hospital

The wearable system allows hospitals to extend their care service into the patient’s home through the Home-hospital app. Clinicians can provide medical-grade monitoring for patients at home after discharge, enhancing safety and flexibility. mWear offers a universal CMS platform to display, analyze, alarm and report all patient-related clinical data. Hospitals can use the existing Mindray IT architecture to reduce installation and maintenance costs.

“Integrating the latest monitoring technologies to address clinical needs, we believe that the mWear wearable monitoring system is a solid step forward to reshape the future of patients’ journey and take continuous patient monitoring to a new level,” said Ralph Zhao, GM of global PMLS sales & marketing department, Mindray. “It is Mindray’s unremitting commitment to continue upgrading medical solutions that bring high-quality healthcare to every point of care.”
