Medical Design & Outsourcing’s March and May 2022 editions
Medical Design & Outsourcing and seven members of our team are finalists for more than a dozen American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE) Awards of Excellence.
ASBPE Awards of Excellence, also called Azbee Awards, recognize the highest quality reporting, editing and design in business-to-business, trade, association and professional publications.
MDO won five national and nine regional Azbee Awards. All finalists win awards of gold, silver, bronze or honorable mention. ASBPE will announce regional winners in April and national winners in May.
MDO’s national Azbee Awards
MDO‘s digital edition is a national finalist for overall excellence — the Azbee Awards’ highest level — in the category of digital magazine of the year.
Judges considered the March, May and July 2022 editions for this award. Award recipients include Executive Editor Chris Newmarker, Managing Editor Jim Hammerand, Senior Art Director Matthew Claney, Senior Editor Danielle Kirsh, Pharma Editor Brian Buntz, Associate Editor Sean Whooley and DeviceTalks Editorial Director Tom Salemi.
MDO is also a national finalist for publication design. Judges considered the March and May 2022 editions designed by Claney.
Buntz’s pharma coverage is a national finalist for best regular department in print for his reporting on Genoskin, potential applications of messenger RNA (mRNA) and the top-selling pharmaceuticals of 2021.
Hammerand’s March 2022 cover story on Endiatx is a national finalist for the categories of best company profile and best opening page/spread photo. Special thanks to freelance photographer Hardy Wilson for working with us on the photo shoots.
MDO’s regional Azbee Awards
MDO is also a regional finalist for best publication design, with judges considering the same March and May 2022 editions that won national honors.
Our annual Medtech Big 100 edition is a regional finalist for print special issue or supplement.
Kirsh’s reporting on FDA recalls earned a regional award in the category of enterprise news story, while her analysis of gender diversity in medtech garnered an award for diversity, equity and inclusion.
Buntz’s pharma coverage is also a regional finalist for best regular department in print for his previously mentioned reporting.
Finally, our Endiatx cover story is a regional finalist for best company profile, feature article design, and best opening page/spread photo.
