Practice Green will identify medical and dental products that are reusable, recyclable, or biodegradable. Are the products made from recycled materials or come from a sustainable source?

Medical device developers and their customers are increasingly focusing on sustainability. Efforts range from reducing waste in manufacturing to minimizing product packaging. They’re also looking for ways to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases.

Henry Schein selected the products based on marketing information provided by its supplier partners. Specific product offerings are available through local Henry Schein representatives.

Henry Schein has already launched the program for its Europe, Middle East, and Africa customers and plans to soon expand it, said Henry Schein International Distribution Group President Andrea Albertini.

He said the initiative “embodies Henry Schein’s commitment to offer customers the latest, innovative products and solutions that help enhance efficiency, optimize care delivery, and provide high-quality patient care.”

\n

“Through this program, we advance our commitment to meeting the needs of our customers who are concerned about the environmental impact of their practice or laboratory,” Albertini said in a news release. “We strongly believe that the actions we take today will help protect the earth and our natural resources as well help build a healthier world for all.”
