Haemonetics (NYSE:HAE) announced that it entered into a definitive agreement to sell certain blood donor management software assets to the GPI Group.
GPI, a provider of IT solutions supporting healthcare and social services, is purchasing the assets from within Haemonetics’ blood center business unit, according to a news release.
Under the agreement, Boston-based Haemonetics and its subsidiary Global Med Technologies will transfer intellectual property, customer contracts and other assets relating to its ElDorado Donor, Hemasphere, Donor Doc, Donor Doc Phlebotomy, eDonor, DonorSpace, Surround and SafeTrace software products to GPI., which manages its U.S. business is managed through its Hemasoft subsidiary that specializes in web-based software solutions for blood donor centers, blood banks, transfusion services, cell therapy labs and tissue banks.
Haemonetics and GPI group expect the transaction to close in the second quarter in the calendar year 2020, subject to closing conditions.
