Exactech (Nasdaq:EXAC) announced today that it launched its Equinoxe humeral reconstruction prosthesis for clinical use in Europe.
Gainesville, Florida-based Exactech designed the humeral reconstruction prosthesis with intraoperative flexibility and patient-specific sizing to offer a number of options for achieving stability regardless of proximal humeral resection length.
According to a news release, the platform is the first modular device available in the U.S. for significant proximal humeral bone loss and reconstruction after tumor resections. It is used in primary or revision arthroplasty procedures as well as anatomic oncology procedures.
The humeral reconstruction prosthesis, which Exactech first introduced in the U.S. in 2015, has been used to treat more than 1,500 patients and has been made available in Italy, France, Spain, Germany and Great Britain.
