avista-acquires-probo-medicalAvista Capital Partners today announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Probo Medical for an undisclosed amount.

Varsity Healthcare Partners’ Probo Medical is a Tampa-based medical imaging company that sells and repairs ultrasound probes. It has 14 facilities in the U.S. in Europe and has a global supply chain.

“Probo has earned its strong market position through operational excellence and timely, strategic acquisitions. The company is well-positioned to accelerate growth as favorable sector trends continue, particularly growing demand for newer, high-quality refurbished equipment. We look forward to working with Michael and his team to execute on the numerous growth opportunities ahead,” Avista partner Sriram Venkataraman said in a news release.

Probo Medical most recently acquired Remetronix for an undisclosed amount. It added the Port St. Lucie, Florida-based company’s medical equipment installation and de-installation services to its portfolio.
