AidocAidoc announced today that it received its ninth FDA 510(k) clearance for triage and notification of brain aneurysm.

New York-based Aidoc develops triaging and notification algorithms designed to flag and communicate certain conditions, allowing for increased efficiency in prioritizing incidental critical conditions through artificial intelligence (AI).

The newly cleared algorithm adds the flagging and communication of suspected positive cases of brain aneurysm to Aidoc’s portfolio of neuro solutions that include LVO (M1), ICH and C-spine fractures, according to a news release. The offering delivers a care coordination workflow tailored to radiologists, neuroendovascular surgeons and neurologists aiming to treat multiple and different types of patients from emergency rooms, outpatient settings, at the hub or transferred from the spoke.

Aidoc said its AI platform enables the “seamless addition” of new AI solutions as a native part of the workflow, eliminating the need to train current and new personnel as the solutions are adopted by hospitals.

“In the U.S., there is, tragically, a brain aneurysm rupture every 18 minutes. It’s an acute condition that can quickly turn fatal, so time is of the essence, especially for late-night reading,” Aidoc co-founder and CEO Elad Walach said in the release. “We’re excited to include this algorithm in our set of neuro solutions, addressing the challenge of providing timely and accurate notifications of brain aneurysm cases. With this 9th FDA clearance in three years, we stay committed to providing the most comprehensive platform in the space.”
