The MedTech Conference, powered by AdvaMed, announced today that this year’s upcoming conference will be an all-virtual experience.

Originally scheduled to take place in Toronto, the conference will take place on a virtual platform. AdvaMed said in a news release that The MedTech Conference event in 2022 will now be hosted in Toronto.

Beginning in September, registrants for the event will have access to on-demand sessions, which will be released every week through Oct. 7. Additionally, a number of simulcast sessions will be available for viewing between Oct. 5 and Oct. 7, with sessions available on-demand through late October.

The conference’s MedTech Connect partnering platform will be open in August so participants will be able to view other users and begin requesting networking meetings.

“The MedTech Conference is the premier annual gathering of our industry, and it is more important than ever that we show, despite the challenges presented by COVID-19, our ability to adapt, move forward, and bring our community together,” AdvaMed president & CEO Scott Whitaker said in the release. “The theme of this year’s conference – United by Purpose – has never been more appropriate. While we may be unable to meet in person in Toronto, the show will go on! We’ll have all the great opportunities our attendees have come to expect to connect and learn about the key issues that affect our industry.”

The MedTech Conference co-chair Caroll Neubauer, the executive director of B.Braun of America, noted that the challenge presents the opportunity to remove travel, time and geography as a barrier for participating and offers flexible scheduling options.

“Across Canada, the medtech community has been so enthusiastic to host The MedTech Conference, and I am so pleased it will be coming to Toronto in 2022,” added MedTech Conference co-chair and Medtronic Canada president Neil Fraser. “This year’s virtual event will be the next best thing to being here, and I encourage everyone involved in the health care, medtech and related scientific community to take advantage of this unique educational and networking experience.”
