starlight cardiovascularStarlight Cardiovascular: Project Lifeline

San Diego, California

Starlight Cardiovascular has developed the Project Lifeline as a less-invasive way to maintain sufficient circulation in newborns with ductal-dependent circulation.

Project Lifeline increases the safety, procedural success and ease of use in ductus arteriosus stent procedures in pediatric patients with congenital heart disease. The company says the device has the potential to obviate an open-heart, on-pump surgery.

The stent can be delivered through a smaller, more navigable catheter than stents that are currently used off-label for this purpose. It allows for complete, conformable end-to-end coverage of the ductus when the length cannot be precisely measured.
